Extended Housing had the grand opening of its community center on Thursday, January 18. The event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony that was attended by State Senator John Eklund along with other local officials, local agency representatives and Extended Housing Board and Staff along with over 50 others. Cathy Bieterman, City of Painesville Economic Development Director, was in attendance and said that the community center was one of the best meeting spaces in the area and would provide a valuable resource for the community.

The event featured the artwork of artist and former Extended Housing client Mardi Synder. Mardi spoke at the event about being an Extend Housing client and the importance of support for local mental health agencies. Her artwork was for sale at the event and Mardi generously donated 75% of the sales to Extended Housing.

Local musician Julie Slattery played the piano and sang, providing a wonderful accompaniment for the evening. Sen. John Eklund presented Extend Housing with an Ohio Senate proclamation to commemorate the event which was signed by Sen. Eklund, Minority Leader Sen. Kenny Yuko and President of the Ohio Senate Sen.
