Thank You to the Western Reserve Junior Service League

Extended Housing received the help of many volunteers from The Western Reserve Junior Service League (www.wrjsl.org) over the weekend.  Twenty four (24) volunteers arrived on May 11th to help prepare McKinley Grove for the tenants who will be moving in around June.  These volunteers worked tirelessly to clean the new apartment building from top to bottom in each of the second floor units.  As if that wasn’t enough, they are coming out to do another cleaning before the opening in June!

Each active member of the Western Reserve Junior Service League commits to volunteering at a local charity. They choose according to their personal interests. In all, more than 50 non-profit organizations have relied on WRJSL members to help augment paid staff, assist with special projects or serve as members of their board of trustees.  As a part of their commitment to volunteerism, WRJSL members also participate as a group in special community service projects.

McKinley Grove is a unique supportive housing apartment community in Painesville that will benefit severely mentally ill individuals who need support in order to maintain an increased level of independence.  It is the first of its kind in Lake County based on a nationwide model.
