WRJSL helps Extended Housing with Fire Escape Ladders

WRJSL Funds Fire Escape Ladders

Extended Housing has begun installing new permanent fire escape ladders in properties with second floors as an additional means of egress. The first ladder was installed on January 13, 2010. Twenty -nine ladders were purchased thanks to a $4,627.13 grant from Western Reserve Junior Service League (WRJSL).

Extended Housing is dedicated to the safety of their tenants and the fire escape ladders will improve the safety of tenants should a fire occur. Jerry Potts, the fire inspector from the Painesville City Fire Department was present when the first ladder was installed to insure that proper procedures were followed, as well as Ali Hughes from Western Reserve Junior Service League.

Thank you to the Western Reserve Junior Service League for helping us purchase these ladders, as well as the Lake County Alcohol Drug Abuse and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board, who provides vital funding and support!
