Housing Support Assistant

Extended Housing, Inc. (EHI) has an immediate opening in its housing services department for an experienced full-time Housing Support Assistant. EHI is a nonprofit based in Painesville, Ohio that helps low-income individuals with serious mental disorders have greater access to safe, decent, affordable, supportive housing. We serve over 600 clients throughout Lake County annually through administration of financial assistance programs, program staff, and property management and maintenance.

The Housing Support Assistant will work in a team and report directly to our director of housing services. Duties include reporting requirements, administrative support to direct service staff, preparing documents for grant applications, data entry, and filing. Successful candidate will demonstrate computer literacy with Microsoft Office and administrative assistance skills. Associates degree and prior experience working with mentally disabled and homeless population preferred. Extended Housing, Inc. is recruiting a full-time VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America), a one-year service opportunity that is funded through the Ohio CDC Association, for June 2019 – June 2020.

Together with the innovative and enthusiastic director of development and community engagement at Extended Housing, Inc. the individual will work to lay a foundation that will improve our capacity to provide housing to individuals with severe mental illness in Lake County, Ohio.

Employment term is June 2019 to June 2020. The minimum age requirement is 18, and the desired education level is a college graduate.

A strong candidate will possess skills from the following list: Communications, community organization, computer/technology, conflict resolutions, fundraising/grant writing, leadership, public speaking, recruitment, teaching/tutoring, writing/editing, marketing, social media platforms, graphic design.

Duties will include:

  1. Developing a marketing plan for Extended Housing, Inc. that leverages existing assets, including social, digital, and print media, to raise awareness of the agency and the life-changing work it does.
  2. Develop EHI’s volunteer program
  3. Grow EHI’s network of community partners.

Full-Time Housing Support Worker

Non-profit housing agency seeks experienced full-time Housing Support Worker to provide supportive services for persons with severe and persistent mental illness in Lake County. Duties include reporting requirements, direct service standards, completing annual recertifications and inspections for program compliance. Successful candidate will engage persons to obtain/maintain housing by teaching skills necessary for persons to be good tenants and productive community members. Flexible hours and some evening meetings may be required. Valid driver’s license, computer literate, BA in social service or related field/LSW preferred, prior experience working with mentally disabled and homeless population preferred. First Shift Residential Specialist

Extended Housing, Inc.  is seeking a full-time Residential Specialist for mental health transitional residential care facility in Lake County.  This is a first shift position and candidates must be willing to work from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.  The ideal candidate will have at a minimum an associates/2 year degree in related field, HX working in the mental health field, excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.  Send resume and cover letter to:  Extended Housing – 270 E.
